Winter Player Development Program


Taught and Bowled will be running a Winter Player Development Program during the off-season. 


Program Outline

The Winter Player Development Program includes the following sessions:

  • An initial skill testing and video taping session
  • A one-on-one sit down meeting with coach, player and parent(s) regarding your game
  • 7 x two hour cricket training sessions held during Term 3 

Each session is tailored to allow players to focus on the key areas of their game. 



There are three streams players can choose from:

  • Stream 1 - Batting and Fast/Medium Bowling
  • Stream 2 - Batting and Spin Bowling
  • Stream 3 - Batting and Wicket Keeping

Age Group

  • The program is open to 10, 11, 12 and 13 year old cricketers

 Session Dates and Times

  • Choose one - Monday June 29, Monday July 6 or Monday July 13 from 4:00-6:00pm - Skill Testing
  • Player Meetings during the school holidays (times to be negotiated, to be held after your skill testing session)
  • Coaching sessions from 4:00-6:00pm on the following Mondays: July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10, August 17, August 24 and August 31

Focus Areas 

All players are different and will have their own strengths however the areas we will be looking at include the following:

  • Batting; batswing, set up, balance, decision making, range of shots
  • Pace bowling; alignment, fluency through the crease, seam position, wicket taking weapons
  • Spin bowling; grip and wrist position, revolutions on the ball, variety
  • Wicket keeping; power position, lateral movement, soft hands, footwork, head position



$400 which covers all sessions. Players also receive a Taught and Bowled t-shirt, cap and drink bottle.
